Our Favourite “Tried and True” Products To Date
Our Favorite Starter Items
Black Wire Kennel:
these are strong and easy to fold up and store and take traveling. You can always find them second hand on kijiji or swap and buy. 30 inch is perfect, ideally with a divider so you can keep it smaller when you’re puppy is little. You can also drape a blanket over them to give your puppy that “den” like cozy feeling
ID tags:
We are obsessed with The Little Stripped Fox. It is a Canadian owned company and we just love her products and her professionalism. Use code WILDROSE15 for 15% off your order. Check out her website for the cutest ID tags you’ve ever seen.
Training Bells:
I have found that a lot of puppies catch on quicker to housetraining when they are taught to ring their bell to go outside to potty
Our Favourite Enrichment Products
The corn:
Lather this sucker up with peanut butter, throw it in the freezer for a while, and suction it to your puppy’s kennel floor for hours of entertainment while you’re away
Slow Feeder/Lick Mat:
This interactive slow feeder/lick mat will keep your dood busy when you are too. Coat the inside with your dogs raw or some canned food (if you don’t feed raw) and throw it in the freezer for a bit. This doesn’t only entertain your pup and keep them stimulated when you’re busy, but the act of licking also reduces anxiety and is a great “mental workout” for your pooch.
Our Favourite Chew Bones
Beef Chews from Costco:
Cheaper to buy in store than online. Puppies and dogs alike are obsessed with these. They are NOT rawhide. Great for cleaning teeth and keeping puppy busy. However I will add, they STINK! But still worth buying 100%.
Then head right on over to the freezer section at your local pet store for allllll the frozen raw bones your puppy’s heart desires. Frozen raw bones are truly our absolute favorite and are perfect, like PERFECT, for your teething puppy. As your puppy grows, raw bones are also amazing for cleaning your dogs teeth! Keep them coming! Your dog and their health will thank you.
Some of our favourites from the freezer: Knuckle bones, rib bones, chicken feet, duck and chicken necks, espophogus stuffed with tripe etc.
Disclaimer- please supervise your dog while they have a raw bone- especially the marrow bones! Marrow bones can get stuck on their jaws (just google it). Rib bones also can become knawed down into sharp points at which time I take the bone away and discard of it.
Also remember this is raw meat, so please ensure you disinfect the area where your dog chewed on their bone, or give it them them to eat outside.
Our Favorite Treats
Dehydrated Salmon:
From good ol’ Costco. You can also get them at Homes Alive but they are half the price at Costco. Classic.
Cheaper to buy in store than online
Dehydrated Liver Bites:
Same as above.
Our Favorite Grooming Supplies
Whal Shampoos- specifically the purple one because it smells amazing. They also have a puppy shampoo, a skin soothing oatmeal shampoo and a whitening shampoo. These shampoos are also very reasonably priced
WaterPik Pet Wand:
You haven’t lived until you’ve bathed your dog with the waterpik pet wand. But I’ve already said too much
Eye Trimming Set:
Need some scissors on hand for when that fur grows over the eyes and needs to be trimmed back? These will do. They have ball point tips to ensure safety while using around the eyes.
Hair Dryer:
Do we really need to spend $100 on a hair blower for our dog?
Um yes. Yes you do. It’s a game changer folks. Worth its weight in gold, especially when your doodle has a longer coat and its wet/snowy outside. Dry those legs/paws off in minutes.
The Dematter:
This thing works! Have this bad boy on hand to quickly work out a matt if one pops up in your doodle’s coat. But be careful as it is sharp!
The Slicker Brush:
Any long pin slicker brush will do, as long as the pins don’t hurt your skin when you “test brush” your arm. If it hurts your skin, it will hurt your dogs.
First brush your doodle with your slicker brush, then go through and brush their coat with a metal comb to ensure you’re detaingling all the fur right down to the skin
The Slicker Brush:
When brushing your dog, brush first through with the slicker brush. However, matts usually begin forming right at the skin and the slicker brush usually misses these. Because of that, it’s important during your daily brushing to always go through with the metal comb after brushing with the slicker brush. Brushing the coat with the metal comb will get right down to the skin and break apart knots you didn’t even know were there ✌️

We 1000% hands down agree that feeding raw/fresh is better for your dog than any kibble out there. It just is. But when feeding raw, be sure to add 3 supplements to your pups raw meal to make it completely complete 👌
1- Omega 3+6’s2- Probiotics
3- A multi vitamin

Looking to groom your own Doodle? Here’s what you need to start!
A grooming table- save your back and invest. Trust me, it’s worth it
A HP blow dryer- ALWAYS bath and fully dry your dog before the groom! This will help you get a much more even groom. This blow dryer will save you so much time drying. Again, it’s worth it!
Andis Clippers- I bought these clippers over 7 years ago and have used them at least once a week since then and they still work like brand new. They will come with a 10 blade as well.
A 4 blade- You want to use the 10 blade to do sanitary areas and to cut out matts, and you can use the 4 blade for the rest of the body/legs if you like
Guards- I use these guards (just clip them onto your 10 blade) on the head/face of my doodles, or if I would like to groom my dog with a longer cut
Blade oil- don’t forget to take care of your clipper blades by oiling them often. It’s $11 on Amazon or $4 at Pet Smart.
Absorber towel- want a massively helpful bathing hack? Use THIS TOWEL to dry off your doodle. It soaks up so much water off your dog, and you simply squeeze out water and keep using. Getting your dog dryer with the towel cuts down on blowdrying time. It’s a game changer folks!
Scissors- you’ll want scissors to clean everything up nice, as well as for the head/face/eye area.
